Hello - I am a 58 year old male, remembering with dread the tawse (or the belt as we referred to it) at school. I loved seeing others get it but dreaded the 5 times i actually experienced it.

I loved hearing the stories from friends telling of how they got their bottom smacked at home. This was usually called a skelping in the Scots vernacular. I was usually slapped around the head - never smacked on the bottom.

However, i do appreciate the need for discipline and would appreciate getting my fingers or bottom warmed once again.

I will post accounts of my past experiences soon and look forward to reading your accounts too.
