I have received an unsolicited email from a member of the site. Is there a means of stopping other members getting in touch by email? I only want to communicate by Private Message until I know someone. I am concerned that my email address will have been disclosed to this person. I have not replied to him.

Are you sure it came directly from someone on the site from their email address to yours?
You will get an email notification from the site with the message attached from the user who sent it to your registered email address .The sender will not know your email address.

Thank you for that. It came as a notification from the site, but as it displayed the email address of the person who sent it to me, I was worried that my email address would be disclosed. Given the obvious nature of some of the members I want to decide who gets my email address and who doesn't.

I can confirm that your email address is not available until you reply to the email via your own email account.
